Trump Imposes Aluminum Tariffs That Will Be Costly To The Beer Industry (Washington, DC) – Last Friday President Trump kept his campaign promise and imposed new tariffs on imported steel and aluminum, 25 percent and 10 percent tariff respectively, an action condemned by many including the Beer Institute.
The long looming threat of an aluminum and steel tariffs is an especially high concern for small craft brewers, cash intensive businesses where profit margins are considerably tighter than they are for Big Beer. In fact Oskar Blues told the Denver Post that new tariff on aluminum could add an additional 20 to 24 cents more per case of beer. The Longmont brewery, which exclusively packages beer in cans, expects the change will also add $475,000 to $575,000 in expenses annually.”
Joined by 120 visiting brewers, the Brewers Association’s Bob Pease spent Thursday on Capitol Hill participating in the trade organization’s annual ‘Hill Climb’ and making a last-ditch effort to persuade policymakers to help craft brewers fend off the rising costs that will come with the new tariffs on steel and aluminum.

Serena Williams Calls Bullshit On Royal Wedding Beer Pong Story (London< UK) Last week many prestigious news organizations ran with the story that Serena Williams had been crowned beer pong champion at the Royal Wedding.
But Serena Williams has taken it upon herself to shut down one of the most interesting story (at least to us!) to emerge from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s tired royal wedding coverage. The 23-time grand slam tennis champion was rumored to “crushed it” playing beer pong at the Royal wedding after party, diminishing all comers.
According to the tennis goddess, that story was “not even remotely true” adding that there was no beer pong at the reception and adding that she “doesn’t even drink beer.” There was however a Royal Beer, so there’s that.
