Dogfish Head Brewing Pops Up In NYC
On January 17, Dogfish Head headed up to NYC to put January’s pressures on ice with their “30 Minute Time Bank,” a one-day-only, pop-up experience designed to give folks something no productivity hack ever does: 30 uninterrupted minutes to themselves in New York City!
Encouraging folks to “stop and smell the hops,” the pop-up experience (courtesy of Dogfish Head’s 30 Minute Light IPA), invited more than 500 guests to take some time for themselves and enjoy a free IPA why they take a 30 minute break from the hustle of the Big Apple, … that was 250+ hours or nearly 11 days of time that was “returned” to NYC drinkers!
“At Dogfish Head, we love a good resolution, but we love flavor and fun even more. We’re believers that ‘better for you’ doesn’t have to mean less joy or less flavor; it’s all about making an effort to ‘lighten up’ as you strive to lead a more balanced lifestyle,” said Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head Brewer & Founder. “Our ‘30 Minute Time Bank ’was an off-centered permission slip for you to hit pause during a month that takes itself way too seriously.”

“Beer should never get political. Brewers need to think long and hard before associating their beers with a particular political position.” – Tom Bobak, Founder & Editor-in-Chief American Craft Beer

Paradox Brewery Wins Big At International Competition
On January 16, Paradox Brewery, a certified veteran-owned, independent craft brewery and modern lager house located in North Hudson, NY announced two big wins at the Great International Cider, Beer, Mead & Sake Competition, one of the world’s most respected international beverage competitions.
Mountain Brew, an American Lager ger brewed partnership with Stewart’s Shops, received Silver in the Premium Lager category. And Paradox Helles Lager earned Silver in the Helles Lager category, further reinforcing the brewery’s growing reputation for crafting serious lagers.
“In a world that’s been very IPA-heavy for a long time, it means a lot to see a lager get some attention,” said Devon Hamilton, Operations Manager, Paradox Brewery. Tastes are changing. But more than the award, we’re proud of what it represents: our partnership with Stewart’s and the chance to help get great beer into people’s hands at an affordable price,”
