Beer Alert – New Holiday Seasonals, Blonde Ales And IPA’s

With the 4^th of July fast approaching, breweries are addressing the holiday with a variety of intoxicating new beer offerings that pair brilliantly with friends an fireworks.

A Perfect Irish Complement (San Diego, CA) – The Green Flash Brewing Company has partnered with Jameson Irish Whiskey on a new summer release. The first Jameson collaboration with a US craft brewer to create a NON-barrel aged beer designed to be paired alongside Jameson Caskmates IPA whiskey. Celtic Sun IPA, was crafted by the Green Flash brewing team to complement the floral citrus nose, and green apple light citrus tasting notes found in Jameson Caskmates IPA. And its packaging incorporates design elements from both the Caskmates IPA label and the new Green Flash illustrative design.

Atomic Blonde (Astoria, OR) – Just in time for the Fourth of July, Buoy Beer Company has released the second of four styles that make up the 2019 line-up. Bright and straightforward, Buoy’s Hoppy Blonde Ale is a 4.8% ABV refresher with a subtle, yet solid malt bill and a healthy dose of Pacific Northwest Comet, Simcoe and Meridian hops.

When It Rains, It Pours (Alexandria, VA) – Port City Brewing is returning a beer that originated in 2012, when a massive storm rolled through the mid-Atlantic and knocked out power for about 5 million in the region. Port City’s power was down for five days which left them unable to control the fermentation temperature of a tank of lager. As a result the tank fermented at a higher temperature. The beer changed from a lager into a 4.8% ABV California Common and Derecho Common, now a summertime legend, was born.

Since Derecho Common’s debut, the Port City team has refined the recipe each summer. The present formulation is their re-interpretation of an India Pale Lager. Brewed with 100% Centennial hops, Derecho 2019 is brilliant gold in color, with bread like flavors from the malts, and citrus and pine notes for the hops. This lager has a medium body and finishes with a clean hop bitterness.
