We can get snarky about big beer conglomerates here at American Craft Beer. So it’s only fair that we applaud companies like Anheuser-Busch when they adopt sustainability strategies that will make for a better world!
Here’s the deal…
In 2018 Anheuser-Busch, home to bestselling beer brands like Budweiser, Bud Light, Michelob Ultra, Busch and its Brewers Collective family of craft partners, announced sustainability goals that were as ambitious as they are impressive.
As part of its US sustainability goals, which includes water stewardship, recyclable packaging and smarter agricultural practices, Anheuser-Busch announced that 100% of its purchased electricity would come renewable sources by 2025.

The Anheuser-Busch Solar Farm, the brewer’s solar project in Texas, officially comes online this month, marking the early achievement of a key mandate from Anheuser-Busch’s 2025 Sustainability Goals.Located in Pecos County, Texas the Anheuser-Busch Solar Farm was developed in partnership with Recurrent Energy, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc., and is the largest solar project for the beverage industry in the United States.
“At Anheuser-Busch we dream big in everything we do, including our commitment to creating a more sustainable future for our partners, our consumers, and our communities.” said Michel Doukeris, CEO of Anheuser-Busch. “Achieving this ambitious sustainability goal four years early means that each time someone reaches for an Anheuser-Busch product, they are choosing one that contributes to a more sustainable future.”
Monday’s announcement builds on Anheuser-Busch’s ongoing investments in renewable electricity, which includes Thunder Ranch Wind Farm in Oklahoma and more than 10 additional renewable electricity installations at its flagship breweries across the country.
