Summer has arrived …and it’s time for some summertime fun. Well good, because there’s lots going on. From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered. Plus we’ve a special summertime weekend beer pick for you, because we know you’ll be drinking.
Colorado Rendezvous (Salida, CO) – Surrounded by soaring mountains and set beside by the beautiful Arkansas River, the 21st annual Brewers Rendezvous returns to Riverside Park in historic downtown Salida this Saturday, July 8th for an afternoon of serious drinking. The year’s celebration features more than 79 cutting-edge Colorado Breweries and over 300 brilliant beer offerings. And trust us, there’s not a more spectacular setting to visit for beer this weekend.
On The Big Screen – We’re not sure that the world’s needs another completely envisioned Spider-Man movie or a new Peter Parker (newbie Tom Holland this time around) but that’s the big movie that’s opening this weekend. Directed by Jon Watts, Spiderman: Homecoming has been riding a wave of positive reviews (so maybe it won’t suck), but in a summer already littered with massive disappointments and purposeless sequels, we’re not all that hopeful.
TV Time & Streaming – There’s so much great television out there nowadays, that it seems like we’re always playing catchup as we are with Fear the Walking Dead which returned to AMC last month. A companion piece to The Walking Dead the network’s massively popular zombie series, Fear the Walking Dead is finally finding its own footing as Kim Dickon’s steers her fractured family through a post-apocalyptic landscape that’s more Mad Max the World War Z.
Summer Love And Beer (Monterey, CA) – Don’t miss the 16th Annual Monterey Beer Festival which returns to the beautiful Monterey County Fair & Event Center this Saturday July 8th (12:30 pm-5pm). This year’s beerganza will feature more than 200 brilliant beers from the region’s best breweries with the emphasis on hard-to-get one-offs and fresh summer seasonals.
THE ACB SUMMERTIME WEEKEND BEER PICK
With the 4th of July now behind us, we plan on keeping things festive this weekend that we recently received from the Flying Dog crew. Uno de Snake is a 6.5% ABV Mexican IPA that brewed with Agave nectar to keep things interesting and finished off with fresh lime zest.
