AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S “SUMMER IS ON” WEEKEND PICKS
AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S “SUMMER IS ON” WEEKEND PICKS
Hey it’s the first weekend in June…and you’re in serious need of some fun. Well good, because there’s lots going on. From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered. Plus we’ve another weekend beer pick for you, because we know you’ll be drinking.
Savor This! (Washington, DC) – The Brewers Association returns the SAVOR: An American Craft Beer & Food Experience to Washington, DC’s amazing National Building Museum, for two evenings (June 2nd-3rd) of spectacular food and drink.
This year’s SAVOR will feature 172 beers from 86 of the country’s most exciting breweries – and each beer will be paired with a specially curated small-plate offering. There will also be five artisan food and beer stations on the balcony overlooking the Great Hall that you don’t want to miss including the American Cheese Society, the Choptank Oyster Company, Nathan Miller Chocolate, Monterrey Seafood and Red Apron Butcher.
On The Big Screen – This weekend’s big movie opening features a DC Comics heroine who was briefly introduced in last year’s Batman v Superman flick. Wonder Woman stars Gal Gadet as the aforementioned Amazonian princess with super powers who leaves her mythical enclave and enters the modern world on a mission to fight a war to end all wars…
The “Coachella of Craft Beer” Returns This Weekend (Paso Robles, CA) – What we consider to be the best non-Brewers Association festival in the country, the 2017 Firestone Walker Invitational is also returning this weekend and some of the ACB crew will be in attendance out there as well. Bottom line – there are very few craft beer events as cool as the Invitational.
Where SAVOR works hard to showcase America’s ever-changing roster of cutting-edge breweries, the Invitational casts an even wider and more global net. Cutting-edge overseas breweries like London’s Beavertown, and New Zealand’s Garage Project will be pouring their best and if you were lucky enough to score tickets to this Saturday’s “beerganza” you’re gonna have a “rave-level” blast.
THE ACB WEEKEND BEER PICK
We’ve plans to get a little shady this weekend (we all need that from time to time) and Ninkasi Brewing totally has us covered. Ninkasi Maiden The Shade is a 6.8% ABV Summer IPA that’s brewed with an ambitious menu of eight exotic hop varieties smartly complimented by an abundance of flaked barley. Just a great IPA at this time of year!
