AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S HALLOWEEN WEEKEND PICKS
Halloween is just days away…so it’s time for some reckless fun. That’s where we come in. From the nation’s most frightening beer events, to scary movies, spooky music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered. We’ve also a special Halloween weekend beer pick for you, because you’ll be needing that.
The Haunted Beer Cellar (Washington, DC) – On Saturday, The Sovereign, DC’s absolutely killer Belgian beer emporium, will be opening up their haunted beer cellar to public and it promises to be a frighteningly good time. And they’ll be inviting you to face your fears with 30 bone-chilling brews from Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales.
Halloween On The Big Screen – with Halloween just days away we’ve got nothing but horrifying suggestion for you…so don’t even think about hitting a comedy this weekend. Steven King’s It is everywhere – it’s got scary clowns and received some very decent reviews. And if you’re in the mood for a cut-em-up, Happy Death Day or Jigsaw might satisfy your demented hunger.
Halloween TV & Streaming – Clearly timed to coincide with October 31st. Netflix is returning Stranger Things, their surprise hit from last year, for a second horrifying season. This much-anticipated sci-fi drama stars Golden Globe-winning actress Winona Ryder as a single mom who lives in a small Indiana town where spooky things are going on. And FXX will also be featuring a 13-hour Simpsons Treehouse of Horror Marathon on Halloween and you don’t want to miss that!
Motor City Drinking! (Detroit, MI) – This weekend Eastern Market will once again be hosting a legend, when the 9th Annual Detroit Fall Beer Festival returns to Motor City. So fasten your seat belts, people and get ready for two days (Oct 27th-28th) of serious artisan eats and more than 800 beers provided by 120 of the region’s most exciting Michigan-based craft breweries. This weekend’s celebration is being thrown by the Michigan Brewers Guild (and they do these things right) so you absolutely don’t want to miss it.
