THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEKEND PICKS

The weekend has finally arrived…and you’re ready for the fun. Well good, because we’ve some ideas for you. From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time.  Plus we’ve another weekend beer suggestion for you as well, because we know you’ll be drinking.

Play Ball (Washington, DC) – Washington, DC is home to two great craft beer & cuisine events. They both take place at the National Building Museum. SAVOR happens every June – and the other event takes place tomorrow Saturday, March 4th, when the 13th Annual Beer Institute Brewer’s Ball returns to the Great Hall. This year’s charity gala will feature state-of-the-art craft beers from some 35+ of the region’s best brewers and mouthwatering cuisine from DC’s most popular restaurants. The Brewer’s Ball is a very special evening that really shouldn’t be missed (especially if you enjoy serious beer).

On The Big Screen – The X-Men franchise returns to a beloved character, Wolverine, when Logan debuts this weekend. Hugh Jackman returns as the brooding mutant now caring for a diminished Professor X (Patrick Stewart) at a remote desert hideaway, whose plans to disappear gets upended when he meets a young mutant girl who is very much like him.

, THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER WEEKEND PICKSBockfest Returns To Cincy!  (Cincinnati, OH) – The 2017 Bockfest is returning to Cincinnati’s Over-the-Rhine neighborhood and its brewery districts and it promises to be a spectacular couple of days. This three-day celebration (March 3rd-5th) is the largest (and oldest) event of its kind – and it all kicks off tonight with an insane goat-led parade through the city that ends up at Bockfest Hall where the ceremonial first keg is blessed. Bockfest Hall (which will be open all weekend), will once again serve as “ground zero” for endless entertainment, artisan food, and of course, plenty of BOCK BEER! For more info on one of the country’s most unique beer festivals, be sure to check out: Bockfest 2017.

TV Time – The SyFy network gets magical this weekend when Lev Grossman’s best-selling fantasy drama returns for a second season. Clearly taking its lead from the Harry Potter series, The Magicians takes place in an upstate New York school for magic but that’s where any similarities end. Ready yourself for more sex, more drugs and more dark magic than ever before, (not that there’s anything wrong with that).

A Craft Beer Festival Cajun -Style (Lake Charles. LA) – Louisiana’s craft beer scene is as impressive as anywhere and one of its best beer festivals will be rockin’ it this weekend. The 3rd annual Louisiana Winter Beer Festival returns to the historic Calcasieu Marine National Bank building in Downtown Lake Charles, this Saturday, March, 5th, and if past is precursor, things are gonna get wild!

THE ACB WEEKEND BEER PICK

This weekend we’ll be hitting up a VERY special Ocho Barril Series release from Half Moon Bay Brewing that we’re incredibly psyched about. Aged in oak Pinot Noir barrels for 18 months (the last 4 with tart Michigan cherries added!), Red Sails in the Sunset is a 7.3% ABV Flemish-style Red Ale that’s best paired with the last light of the day.
