Hey it’s the Weekend…and with the weather cooling down you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because we’ve got all kinds of ideas for you. beertopia_panda_transparent_cmyk_with_nameAsian Beertopia (Hong Kong) – Hey we totally we understand if you can’t make this one, but it just sounds so awesome that we’ve decided to run with it anyway. Described as Hong Kong’s largest international craft beer festival, Beertopia Hong Kong returns for a two-day (Nov 18th & 19th) three sessions run this weekend (as many of our Asian readers probably already know). Last year’s event was “ginormous” and this year’s return will showcase more than 500 different beers. Now in its fifth year, Beertopia will again take place at Hong Kong’s Central Harbourfront . fantastic-beasts-and-where-to-find-them-comic-con-posterOn the Big Screen – It appears that the long Harry Potter drought has come to sort of an end with this weekend’s big new movie release. To be fair, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them isn’t a continuum of the Harry Potter series, but it was written by Potter’s author, JK Rowling and it does tap that hidden world of magic. Fantastic Beasts introduces a whole new set of characters, a new place (New York City) and takes place 70 years before the Harry Potter stories started. The year is 1926, and Eddie Redmayne stars as Newt Scamander, a writer who travels the world documenting magical creatures. But on a brief stopover in NYC things get messy and adventures ensue.

Ozark Drinking (Springfield, MO) – The 2016 Ozarks Beerfest is coming to the Springfield Expo Center this Saturday (Nov 19th) and it promises to be an afternoon of serious drinking. Described as southwest Missouri’s largest craft beer festival, this year’s one-day, one-session event will feature more than 200 beers, including fall/winter seasonals, one-offs and rare exotics – so you don’t want to miss it. For a complete rundown of all the breweries attending, check out: Ozark Brewfest

TV TimeBlack Mirror is a British television anthology series (created by Charlie Brooker) with dark and sometimes satirical stories that examine modern society, and technology’s unexpected impact on it. Sometimes funny and more times than not frightening, this widely acclaimed speculative series has returned to Netflix for its third (and maybe its best) season. This is Twilight Zone for the next generation and it’s some of the best TV viewing this year!

stone-ripper-1OUR ACB WEEKEND BEER PICK

With this weekend looking to get unseasonably warm, we’ll be taking the opportunity to drink unseasonably, with something new from Stone Brewing. A fusion of bi-coastal surfing cultures – and hops from the Pacific Northwest as well from Australia – Stone Ripper is a new 5.7% ABV Pale Ale that’s also an ode to an “endless Summer.”
