Holy Beer! Tomb Rocker Gets An Easter Blessing
Holy Beer! Tomb Rocker Gets An Easter Blessing

Not Father Timothy
In the increasingly competitive world of craft beer, breweries are looking to all kinds of ways to get their brands noticed – like having their new spring seasonal blessed by Father Timothy on Easter.
Wilmington, North Carolina’s Front Street Brewery pulled off a spiritual and marketing coup on Easter Sunday when they secured the services of Father Timothy from the Saint Basil Orthodox Church who dropped by the downtown microbrewery to bless (yep holy water…the whole deal), their new Easter release, Tomb Rocker. (We can’t make this stuff up).
According to WECT, The beer was created by Front Street brewmaster Christopher McGarvey almost a decade ago while he was in seminary school.
We can only speculate what led McGarvey him away from his spiritual journey to life as a professional brewer, but clearly he’s still connected. (It’s not like Stone Brewing or even Deschutes is getting any of their new releases blessed…just sayin’).
And again, to have named his new Easter release Tomb Rocker…How can you not love that?
