2017 Craft Beer Resolutions That Might Actually Be Fun

Many New Year resolutions have already been forgotten. Primarily because they’re no fun. But ACB’s intrepid team of correspondents have come up with some exciting craft beer resolutions for 2017 that are a rockin’ good time.

According to Forbes, only 8% of people actually achieve their resolutions, so how about making some that you can keep in 2017? If you make them about craft beer, we’ve no doubt you’ll succeed and have the beeriest year ever!

Explore More New Beer Styles

As you dive deeper into the world of craft beer, you’ll discover that there are a whole world of beer styles you’ve never tried.

Make a list of new beer styles you’ve never had (the more obscure the better) and guzzle your way down to zero.

Whether it’s Sours, Rauchbier or Gruit ales, we suggest that you sample several different brewery’s take on that style – so you can gain a little perspective as you lose it at the same time

Remember this mnemonic when exploring new beers in 2017…Try five to let beers jive!

For many the “breakfast beer” has never gone away. And if you’ve not ever participated in sun-up ritual you’re missing out on one of life’s most enduring rituals that can be as medicinal as they are a good time.

Be sure to pace yourself with these sunrise celebrations in the beginning – if you can no longer focus on your morning newspaper, it’s time to reel things in.

With training and discipline you’ll eventually be power-pounding Barleywines along with you omelets but we suggest that you begin with more sessionable brews and aggressively work yourself into competitive shape as you move into 2017.

Year in and year out, the number one resolution is to work out more and maybe lose some weight. And we feel strongly that throwing some craft beer into the mix can only help you achieve better results.

For amazing results try rewarding and/or limiting yourself to one beer for every hour you work out.

This may strike some as counterproductive, but your basic craft beer has just 20 to 30 more calories than the average 20 oz. bottle of diabetes-enhancing sports drink (but without the added Glycerol Ester of Rosin).

You think all these beer& running clubs are about running? Plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Turn A Beer Virgin On To Craft Beer

Everyone has friend who would vote Miller Lite for president if they had the chance (and given last year’s elections one can hardly blame them). But don’t let them live out 2017 as virgins who’ve never experienced craft beer’s sometimes unholy pleasures.

Make it your goal this year to put an end to their closeted shame but remember to be persistent, loving and understanding.

Not everyone desires an Imperial IPA immediately but perhaps they’ll yield to the comforting temptation of an artisan lager…

And with craft beer’s cornucopia of exotic styles (see our first suggestion) there is a beer out that will make their transition meaningful and memorable.
