Newbies – 5 Awesome Craft Beers You Need Now

|June 13th, 2016|

So many beers- So little time… Summer is here and we’ve all the right beers for the season! Plus we’ve some interesting new offerings from Upslope and Drake’s Brewing that you’ll want to get your sweaty little hands on.

Abita-Blueberry-Wheat-bottlesBlue Buried (Abita Springs, LA) – Abita Brewing has a new Harvest Series release that was inspired by their popular Strawberry Lager. Abita Blueberry Wheat is a combination of Pilsner and Wheat malts and German Perle hops with sweet Louisiana blueberry juice added after filtration.

Kicking It Back For A Good Cause (San Leandro, CA) – Drake’s Brewing has a new seasonal release and the proceeds from its sales will be donated to East Bay Regional Parks for trail cleanup and restoration throughout its 65 park system. The flagship beer in the brewery’s Kick Back Program, Drake’s Kick Back IPA is an easy-drinking 4.3% ABV Session IPA, that’s been brewed to be paired with another.

Upslope Brown AleMulti-Award Winner (Boulder, CO) – A much decorated Upslope year-round release just took another win at the 2016 World Beer Cup Competition. Hardly the sexiest style in the world, Upslope Brown Ale is a 6.7% refresher, with a rich malt backbone and an assertive hop character. And it absolutely deserves every accolade it receives.

Willy Vanilly Now Yearly (San Diego, CA) – Alpine Beer has just made a fan-favorite its newest year-round and we’re happy for them. Alpine Willy Vanilly is a mildly hopped 4.9% ABV American Wheat Ale that garnered an ardent following as a draft-only offering and will now be available nationally.

Pyramid Pale AlePyramid Scheme (Seattle, WA) – Pyramid is returning an ale that they first brewed back in 1984 and they’re canning it this time around. Dry-hopped with Amarillo, Pyramid Pale Ale is a 5.7% classic with a huge citrus and floral nose.
