|April 18th, 2016|

So many beers- So little time… Spring has sprung and we’ve the right beers for this season! Plus we’ve some great new exotics from Deschutes and Boulevard that you’ll want to get your sweaty little hands on.

Scarlett on BrettFCB Gets Wild (Fort Collins., CO) – Fort Collins Brewery has release a new spring seasonal and things are gonna get wild. FCB’s Scarlett on Brett, is an 8% ABV Wild Ale brewed using Brett that was pitched into not yet been fermented wort. The result is a tart and juicy ale bursting with pineapple and stone fruit aromas.

The Love Child Returns (Kansas City, MO) – Boulevard Brewing is returning a beloved Wild Ale and its hitting shelves now. Boulevard Love Child No. 7 is a blend of various vintages of their Flanders-style red ales. According to the brewery, his year’s blend is closer to the Love Child #4 & #5, then last year’s variation which was built on a blonde sour base, and we’re okay with that.

Fordham Route 1 Session IPASession Up (Dover, DE) – With the weather warming we’re seeing the session ales return to the market place, and Fordham has a damned good one, Fordham Route 1 Session IPA is an well balanced 4.5% India Pale Ale tethered smartly to a sturdy malt backbone.

Down Is Out (Portland, OR) – Widmer Brothers recently returned a popular spring seasonal and it may be familiar to those of you who partook in their now-retired Rotator IPA Series from a couple of years back. Hopside Down IPL is aggressively hopped 6.7% ABV India Pale Lager, which takes its lead from the traditional IPA, but is cold-fermented with lager yeast for a crisp, clean finish.

Deschutes Black Butte XXVIIA Black Beauty (Bend, OR) – Deschutes will be releasing a special Birthday Reserve on June 27th that we have to admit, sounds pretty fucking great. Deschutes Black Butte XXVII is their massive Imperial Porter, brewed this time around with peated malt, cocoa, vanilla and sweet orange peel…and aged in bourbon and scotch barrels.
