Let’s Go – American Craft Beer’s Nightlife Picks, #CBC13 style

You’ve spent the day soaking up useful facts and figures about the craft beer industry, meeting influential craft brewers, and networking with industry professionals – now it’s time to have a little fun! Our Nation’s Capital is awash with a fantastic array of craft beer, and almost as many after-hours events as there are limited-release beers, so check out our top picks on where to head to celebrate the nightlife, CBC style.

Border to Border, Coast to CoastMeridian Pint – 3 pm-12 am:Featuring a rare selection from breweries that geographically represent the diversity of America’s craft beer industry – Ballast Point (San Diego, CA), Founders (Grand Rapids, MI), Hardywood Park (Richmond, VA), and Jester King (Austin, TX). This event is open to the public.

throwdown in chinatownThrowdown in Chinatown Bar Crawl – Iron Horse, Penn Social, & Rocket Bar – 4-9 pm: Between these three bars, there will be 60+ beers available, all at just $3 a pop when you buy a $20 wristband here ($25 day of).

A Night of Extraordinary Ales – Scion/Crios – 5 pm:If tasting over 40 beers both on draft and in bottles (including many rare offerings never before seen in DC) from nine out-of-market breweries sounds like a good time to you, you don’t want to miss this event. CBC Tweet-Up – Gibson Showroom – 5:30-8:30 pm: What happens when you get a bunch of craft beer swilling social media addicts get together in the same room? Let’s find out! Come meet up with the social media managers from breweries all around the country – as well as beer bloggers and beer media – at the Gibson Showroom (just one mile from the Convention Center). This event is limited to beer industry and CBC pass holders.

DC Brau, Ska Brewing, and Country Malt Group present The Pietasters – The Black Cat – 8 pm: The grandfathers of Ska-Rock-and-Soul are back. Don’t miss The Pietasters on the Mainstage while enjoying a new beer collaboration by DC Brau and Ska Brewing – Taster’s Choice Coffee Doppelbock (inspired by the Pietasters themselves). The Draft Magazine Mash-In –Smith Commons – 7-10pm: All of the events at Smith Commons are free to the public and will feature rare brews, industry leaders, live music, and great food pairings. RSVP for free here.
