There’s no bigger craft beer event taking place this weekend than SAVOR 2013, which is happening tonight and tomorrow night in New York City, and tickets might still be available if you act fast. This is the first time for SAVOR in the “Big Apple” and Manhattan will be celebrating all weekend with special craft beer events going on everywhere! But the centerpiece remains SAVOR, which is described as “an American Craft Beer & Food Experience” and trust us, it’s all that and more… For details on one of craft beer’s biggest events, check out: SAVOR 2013

One of this summer’s most anticipated movies will be opening this weekend and from the trailers that we’ve seen, it looks great. Man of Steel is Zach Snyder’s post-Dark Knight take on the Superman mythos. It stars Henry Cavill as Superman along with Amy Adams as his Lois Lane. Man of Steel looks promising and the industry buzz on this reboot has been huge.

For those of you unable to make it to this year’s SAVOR, there are still some awesome craft beer festivals happening this weekend. And one that we’re particularly excited about is the St. Paul Summer Beer Festival. This Saturday’s (6/15) afternoon event will take place at the International Bazaar on the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and 100 of this country’s best breweries will be there. This is the fifth year that St. Paul is hosting the Summer Beer Fest and it just keeps getting better and better. So if you’re anywhere in the vicinity of the Twin Cities, you know what to do!

The Windy City will play host to electronic music’s biggest names and producers from all over the world when Spring Awakening kicks off tonight. This three-day extravaganza (June 14-16) will take place at Chicago’s legendary Soldier Field and features talent the likes of Calvin Harris, Bassnectar, and Moby DJ – so if you’re in the mood to rave this weekend, you don’t want to miss this.

Our Weekend Beer Pick

The 21st Amendment Brewery has just announced a hopocalyptic release! For the third year running, they’ll be releasing Hop Crisis, a big, hoppy, oak-aged Imperial IPA that is packed with five different hop varietals. Hop Crisis was created in defiance of the 2007 hop shortage, at a time when many brewers were forced to skimp on hops. This year’s 9.7% ABV Crisis adds new dry hops in the form of New Zealand Motueka and Australian Stella blended with Northwest Cascade hops.Hop Crisis is part of 21st Amendment’s Insurrection Series, a limited edition, once-in-awhile, four-pack release. Look for it to roll out mid-June.
