The American Craft Beer Weekend Picks – August 23, 2013
Hey it’s Friday, the weekend’s almost here, and you are ready for some serious fun. Well good, because that’s where we come in. From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music, and cutting-edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time. So welcome to this week’s edition of our awesome Weekend Picks.

New Movies Opening This Weekend – This weekend’s movies pretty much run the gamut from comedy to fantasy to horror, so we’ve got to think there’s something here that will pair well with popcorn. The World’s End is the comedy and it stars Simon Pegg as one of five friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier and unwittingly become humankind’s only hope for survival. The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is the fantasy and it’s Hollywood’s latest attempt to build another Harry Potter or Twilight-like franchise. You’re Next is the horror flick opening this weekend and there’s actually some buzz on this one. It tells the story of the Davison family who comes under attack by a gang of mysterious killers during their wedding anniversary getaway.

Music / Music / Music – Los Angeles will play home to one of music’s best festivals this weekend when FYF FEST blasts into town. This year’s two-day event (August 24th– 25th) will be bringing together the biggest names in EDM, Indie, and Rock music, including artists the likes of Beach House, The Breeders and MGMT. Big Brew Ha-Ha in Cincinnati – America’s largest beer & comedy festival returns to Cincinnati this weekend and you don’t want to miss it. The 7th Annual Cincy Brew Ha-Ha! is a two-day, (August 23rd-24th) one-of-a-kind event featuring more than 100 brands of beer and more than 50 comedians on 4 stages. Voted one of Ohio’s best festivals, the Cincy Brew Ha-Ha is the perfect recipe for a great time on the waterfront with friends, laughter, & plenty of beer.
