6 Winter Craft Beers You Need To Check Out
So many beers- So little time… Winter is undeniably here and with it comes the beers of the season. And we’ve a number of interesting new releases that you’ll want to chase down…We’ve also some awesome offerings from Sun King and New Belgium that sound pretty serious as well.
Coffee Buried (Aurora, CO) – Dry Dock Brewing has a new release coming out today that’s brewed with the dried fruit of coffee berries that’s known as cascara. Dry Dock Cascara Imperial Stout Is a 10.1% dark Imperial Stout brewed with cascara and orange peel and aged in whiskey barrels.
Long Island Winter (Patchogue, NY) – Blue Point has returned an award-winning winter seasonal that defines this time of year. Blue Point Winter Ale is a hearty and robust Amber Ale. And at 7.7% ABV this is a big beer – perfect for long nights and winter’s squalls.
Sun King Brews A Blue (Indianapolis, IN) – Sun King Brewing’sFistful Of Hops is quarterly series of IPAs, each with the same malt base. They balance that base against a seasonal “fistful of hops” – each time a different combination. Their first release of 2016, Fistful Of Hops Blue is a 6.4% India Pale Ale that features Centennial, Chinook, and Waimea hops this time around.
Citradelic (Ft Collins, CO) – New Belgium has announced a new year-round that we can’t wait to try. New Belgium Citradelic Tangerine IPA is a 65 ABV India Pale Ale brewed with tangerine-touched Mandarina Bavaria, tropical Azacca, and fruity Galaxy hops. Yessssssssssssss!
The Perfect Crime (San Francisco, CA) – Speakeasy Ales & Lagers has a new draft-only release that’s the first in their Perfect Crime Series and coincides with SF Beer Week (Jan 22nd-31st). The winner of the company’s 2nd Annual Employee Brew-off, Speakeasy Discreet Wheat Ale is a 5.2% ABV American Wheat Ale that’s brewed using an intoxicating array of Calypso, Amarillo, and Mosaic hops.
It’s Drafty In Here! (Atlanta, GA) – Monday Night Brewing’s Clip-On Series is about taking one of the brewery’s tried and true offerings and switching it up a bit. There latest addition to this interesting series Monday Night Cinnamon Cocoa Drafty Kilt is there popular 7.2% Scotch Ale appropriately winter-spiced with cinnamon and cocoa nibs.
