Beer Briefs: Molson Coors Offers Free New Year’s Eve Rides Home

The New Year’s clock will soon be ticking down with celebrations everywhere. And once again Molson Coors be helping residents in seven metropolitan areas ring in 2026 safely by offering complimentary mass transit on New Year’s Eve as part of its Free Rides program.
Coors Light is sponsoring rides in Denver, Dallas and Phoenix, while Miller Lite is supporting in Milwaukee, Charlotte and Washington DC. In Chicago, Miller High Life is the sponsoring brand this year.
“As we embrace the new year, Molson Coors remains committed to championing alcohol responsibility in the communities it serves. It’s an honor to contribute to the night’s festivities and welcome in 2026 together,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager, Molson Coors.”
“By partnering with local transit systems, our hope is to not only provide free rides, but to foster a sense of community and responsibility as we collectively celebrate this new chapter.”
Since its inception in 1988, the Free Rides program has been a cornerstone of Molson Coors’ commitment to promoting responsible celebrations. Through collaborative efforts with local mass transit, the program has extended fare-free rides to more than 8 million individuals across the US.
Accessing Free Rides across the US
Below are the American cities where Molson Coors’s brands will offer free New Year’s Eve rides on Dec. 31 into Jan. 1.
Charlotte (Sponsored by Miller Lite)
- Time: 5 a.m. to 2 a.m.
- Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS): bus, light rail and streetcar network
Chicago (Sponsored by Miller High Life)
- Time: 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
- Chicago Transit Authority (CTA): train and bus lines
Dallas (Sponsored by Coors Light)
- Free for the first 10,500 riders
- Time: 6 p.m. to end of service
- Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART): local bus, rail, TRE commuter rail service, GoLink on-demand service and paratransit service

- Time: 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.
- Regional Transportation District (RTD): bus and rail lines

- Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS): buses and rapid transit line

- Time: 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. or end of service

Holiday partygoers are encouraged to plan their free ride before the countdown to midnight begins. Riders can visit their local public transit website to review transit routes and make arrangements for their journey into 2026.
