If you’ve ever visited the legendary Guinness Brewery at St. James’s Gate, you understand why it’s a beloved Dublin institution…You might have ended your tour up in the Gravity Bar, which sits high atop of Guinness Storehouse and offers a spectacular view of the beautiful city (in addition to some hard to get beers).

It was recently named the Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience – 2024 at the prestigious World Travel Awards, easily beating out the Grand Canyon (overrated), Machu Picchu (been there, done that), and the Taj Mahal (too Far-Eastern), as the best place to hang.

Housed at St. James’s Gate in the heart of Dublin’s Liberties neighborhood, the seven floors of the Guinness Storehouse were built through a €42 million redevelopment of a 113-year-old former Guinness fermentation plant. Since 2000, the Guinness Storehouse has continually been enhanced, and here are just some of its highlights in 2024.

  • In 2024, the Guinness Storehouse…
    • Saw visitor numbers grow by 10% – hosting 1.65M visitors in the year
    • Welcomed over 5,000 visitors from overseas, including New Zealand which is the furthest point from Dublin at over 18,000km away
    • Became the first Visitor Attraction in Ireland to offer online ticket sales
    • Served over 1.5 million pints of beautiful Guinness and Guinness 0.0
    • Hosted 12 proposals – all accepted!
    • Certified 102,000 new Guinness pint pouring experts by the Guinness Academy

The Guinness Storehouse, is still Ireland’s #1 visitor attraction, offering visitor s an epic opportunity to experience the history, heart, and soul of Ireland’s most iconic beer. And its panoramic bar, located on the seventh floor of the brewing complex is a great place for a pint, with stunning views across the Dublin cityscape.

“This is a very special moment for us at the Guinness Storehouse, said Catherine Toolan of Diageo Irish Brand Homes. “We are so proud to retain our title as the ‘World’s Leading Beer Tour Visitor Experience’. It means the world to our team to be recognized on a global stage and to bring these awards home to Dublin.”

And in 2025, the Guiness Storehouse will be celebrating its decade of brewing through its Alive in 25 campaign, with all kinds of new events that promise to be fun.
