AleSmith Oktoberfest
San Diego, California-based AleSmith Brewing makes a number of beers that we love and their fall lager is always worth the wait!
Modeled after the original German-style amber lager made famous for being served at Munich’s Oktoberfest celebration starting in 1872. AleSchmidt Oktoberfest (good name) is a 5.5% ABV Märzen Lager with a fresh, polished ambience and rich malt character.
Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen
Any serious discussion of Oktoberfest beers needs to return to the land where it all started and cities like Aying, Germany, home to Brauerei Aying.
From its rich amber-golden color to its sweet malty nose, Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen is a 5.8% medium-bodied lager that’s considered by many to be one the best Oktoberfest beer in the world.

Great Lakes Oktoberfest
The Great Lakes region is home to one of America’s largest German immigrant populations, so it should come as no surprise that Cleveland, Ohio’s Great Lakes Brewing brews an exceptional award-winning Märzen that has already taken four medals at the World Beer Championships.
With Its uber-smooth, almost silken mouthfeel, Great Lakes Oktoberfest is a much stronger lager at 6.5% ABV than most traditional Oktoberfest releases.
Surly Oktoberfest
Minneapolis, Minnesota’s Surly Brewing is home to many a great beer and their Oktoberfest seasonal is most definitely one of them.
Crafted with a smart blend of Pilsner, Munich, Vienna and Carafoam hops, Surly Oktoberfest is a 6% Märzen Lager that acknowledges its German traditions with a touch of the Midwest thrown in.
Bell’s Oktoberfest Beer
Bell’s Brewery has always excelled at brewing lagers so it shouldn’t surprise that the Comstock, Michigan headquartered brewery makes one of the best Oktoberfest beers in the nation.
Crafted using slightly toasted malt that lends body without too much sweetness, Bell’s Oktoberfest Beer is a 5.5% ABV Märzen with rich German malt flavors and crisp hop aromas.
Schlafly Oktoberfest
It shouldn’t surprise anyone that a St Louis, Missouri-based brewery would understand the art of crafting lagers better than most. And Schlafly Beer’s fall seasonal is uber-authentic in its execution and evocation of heritage
Brewed with rich Munich malt and bright German hops, Schlafly Oktoberfest is a 5.5% ABV Märzen that, in keeping with the lager’s Bavarian roots, was fermented for several months.
