Winter’s coming and American craft brewers are addressing the changing season with an intriguing roster of beers you’re gonna want to have around.
Brew-Ski (Bridgewater, VT) – Long Trail Brewing has crafted a new beer with Ski the East, an apparel, media and events company that is inspired the East Coast’s tightknit winter sports community. Brimming with citrus, pine and tropical fruit hops, Long Trail Ski The East is a robust 6.7% ABV Hazy IPA that delivers the right head for those who want to keep the shred alive.
Made From Scratch That (Hershey, PA) – Tröegs Independent Brewing is commemorating the milestone of five hundred beers released through the brewery’s Scratch Series with something uber-special. Taking its cue from the brewery’s Perpetual IPA, Tröegs Scratch Series: 500 is a 9.5% ABV IPA that doubles down on everything that made the original the best-selling craft beer in the state of Pennsylvania, and amps its stickier notes of citrus, pine and tropical fruit up to 11.
The Scratch Series expanded when Tröegs moved its operations from Harrisburg to Hershey with the installation of a 15-barrel brewhouse designed to facilitate smaller batches of beer. It got even more granular in 2020 with the installation of the Scratch Lab, a 3-barrel nano-brewery designed to replicate the temperature controls, pressure, and geometry of Tröegs’ 100-barrel production brewhouse.
A Double IPA 27 Years In The Making (Escondido, CA) – Stone Brewing is celebrating its 27th anniversary with something bold, that found inspiration in the southern Hemisphere. Brewed with Peacharine and Riwaka hops, along with a special ingredient called Phantasm – an extract from sauvignon blanc grape skins – all sourced from New Zealand, Stone Lemon Shark 27 Anniversary Double IPA is a 9.6% ABV uber-dank India Pale Ale with bright tropical mango, peach and pineapple tones that linger.
