Stout Stuff (Grand Rapids, MI) – Founders Brewing has a new KBS Stout variation that pays tribute to Michigan’s old-fashioned fudge tradition.
Available in 4-packs of 12oz bottles and on draft in Founders taprooms beginning on October 8, Founders KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge is an 11% ABV Coffee Stout that was crated with Mackinac Fudge coffee, and maple syrup before it was aged in oak bourbon barrels.
“We’ve been enjoying beers brewed with the Mackinac Fudge coffee in our taproom for years, and now we’re finally bringing that treatment to KBS,” said Brewmaster Jeremy Kosmicki. “It takes the chocolate flavor traditionally found in KBS to a whole new level. Add in a hint of maple syrup and now you have an elegant, yet explosive new flavor experience.”
Grab A Goblet (Fairmont, IN) – Recently named the “2020 Best Brewery in Indiana” Bad Dad Brewing is a family run business started by a dad (read: Bad Dad) and his sons, who are focused on having fun while brewing serious beer. And they’ve a Scotch Ale (not our favorite style) that’s impressive. Richly malty, yet never cloying, Bad Dad King Of The Castle is a big and balanced 7% ABV Scottish Ale that has us reevaluating the style.
Big Easy Does It (New Orleans, LA) – Last week, Dixie Brewing, the 113-year-old brewery renowned for its lager, released (drum roll please) a Saison. A NOLA taproom exclusive, Dixie Tropical Punch is a complex yet crushable 7.5% ABV Flanders-Style Saison with orange, peach, strawberry, and passionfruit notes and a touch of bubblegum zest.
Double Jack Is Back (Paso Robles, CA) – Firestone Walker is retuning something special for a limited fall run that was first released in 2016. Massively hopped yet improbably balanced, Firestone Walker Double Jack is a 9.5% ABV India Pale Ale that’s an enduring throwback to the freewheeling origins of the West Coast style.
Grape Full (Athens, GA) – Creature Comforts Brewing has returned something that originated as a collaboration with Austin’s Jester King Brewery. Creature Comforts Yonah Skins is a 7.1% ABV oak-aged Lager that was crafted with local grape skins from Yonah Mountain Vineyards’ 2019 Petit Verdot harvest.
