Major Craft Brewery Festivals Cancelled Due To Coronavirus Fears

|March 16th, 2020|

(Dark Lord Day postponed)

It’s not so much fun writing about the craft beer biz lately, everything is inevitably colored by a pandemic that has changed how we live overnight.

Event cancellations are understandably coming in daily and American Craft Beer will continue to send these updates your way…

Dark Lord Day Postponed

Munster, Indiana-based 3 Floyds Brewing has announced it is postponing Dark Lord Day 2020 and ticket sales “until further notice” due to concerns over the coronavirus.

One of craft beer’s hottest tickets, Dark Lord Day 2020 was originally scheduled to take place at the brewery on May 16 and has historically been the only place where people can get bottles of Dark Lord, a 15 percent ABV uber-collectable Russian imperial Stout brewed with coffee, Indian sugar and Mexican vanilla.

But the good news is, unlike the Craft Brewers Conference which was cancelled last week and won’t return in 2020, there will be a Dark Lord Day this year, after the storm clouds clear.

s Postpones Little Festival On The Prairie

According to Tenemu “People who have already purchased a ticket and would like a refund can email mcalestermakers@gmail.com. Any tickets that are not refunded will automatically convert to the new date.”

Cigar City Cancels Hunahpu’s Day 2020

On March 12, Florida-based Cigar City Brewing, pulled the plug on its annual festival because of the spreading pandemic…

Historically the only time that Cigar City Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout can be purchased, this year’s festival was scheduled to return to Amalie Arena in Tampa…

With pandemic fears escalating by the hour it’s becoming clear that Covid-19 will elicit a significant worldwide economic and personal toll.

Unfortunately lives and livelihoods will be lost well beyond the brewing industry, and we can only hope that it all passes soon.

Stay safe everybody…this thing is no joke.
