Beer Run: New Imperial Stouts, Porters And Hazy IPA’s

This weekend’s collection of winter offerings are dark, hoppy, hazy, and February-ready!

Father Figure (Pacific City, OR) – Pelican Brewing is returning the 20wo version of barrel-aged ale that in addition to taking home three awards in 2018, including Gold at the Australian International Beer Awards, and Silvers at both the Brussels Beer Challenge and Oregon Beer Awards, also won two Silver medals at the 2019 Australian International Beer Awards. The most prized player from the brewery’s exceptional Barrel-Aged Series, Pelican Father of All Tsunamis Stout 2020 is an 11.2% Imperial Stout with rich, roasty chocolate and expresso flavors, that was aged to perfection Rye whiskey barrels.

Blue Moon Lightens Up (Chicago, IL) – Molson Coors Blue Moon family of ‘crafty’ beers has a light new variation. Blue Moon LightSky is a 4% ABV Wheat Ale with only 95 calories that is crafted with real tangerine peel and dry hopped with Azacca hops. Packaged in sleek 12oz slim cans, in 6-pack and 12-pack varieties, Blue Moon’s newest addition will be supported with a dedicated marketing campaign, beginning in early March,

Beer and a Chaser (LaGrange, GA) – Wild Leap Brewing, is returning a cult favorite which debuted then disappeared in 2019. Brewed with a flavor combination of ripe oranges, vanilla bean and milk sugar to taste like a creamsicle straight from the ice cream truck, Wild Leap Truck Chaser is an 8.1% ABV Double IPA that’s well worth chasing down.

A Little Hazy About It (Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada is returning to the haze craze with a new year=round addition that’s pretty fantastic. Brewed with five hops and loads of barley, oats and wheat, Sierra Nevada Fantastic Haze Imperial IPA is a 9% ABV India Pale Ale with big juicy tropical flavors and a rich creamy finish.

Be Mine  (San Dieg0, CA) – Coronado Brewing Company is keeping things sweet and sassy with a special release just in time for Valentine’s Day. Brewed with a complex medley of chocolate and of caramel malts, Coronado Shaka Berry is a 10.5% ABV Pastry Stout that artfully blends tart boysenberries and blackberries with rich cocoa and vanilla bean to create something big, rich and decadent.
