AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S 2019 LABOR DAY WEEKEND PICKS

AMERICAN CRAFT BEER’S 2019 LABOR DAY WEEKEND PICKS

|August 30th, 2019|

Hey it’s a long Labor Day weekend…and it’s time for summer-ending fun.  From the nation’s coolest beer events, to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got you covered.  Plus we’ve a special weekend beer pick for you, because we know you’ll be drinking if you haven’t already started!

Drink Locally This Labor Day Weekend 2019 (Everywhere, USA) – Like most summer holidays Labor Day Weekend isn’t a great time for major beer festivals, but it is a terrific opportunity to time hit up some of those new breweries in your own backyard.

It’s an extra-long weekend, so why not drop in on some of those new breweries that you’ve been hearing about? After all, nothing drinks better than beer at its source. And there’s no better way to celebrate Labor Day Weekend 2019 than drinking locally.

On The Big Screen – Okay we admit it we love horror movies. And there’s a new one which opened recently that Entertainment Weekly is calling “handsome, and deliciously horrible.” Produced by (among others) Guillermo del Toro, and based on bestselling book series of the same name, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark weaves together a half dozen scary stories all set in Mill Valley, Pennsylvania, in the fall of 1968.

There’s also Ready or Not a horror/comedy which follows a young bride as she joins her new husband’s rich, eccentric family (Adam Brody, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell) in a strange family tradition that quickly turns into a lethal game with everyone fighting for their survival.

Labor Day TV & Streaming – What better time than Labor Day Weekend to stream a great movie that celebrates the labor movement. On the Waterfront is readily available. But there’s also John Sayle’s terrific coal-mining epic Matewan. And Sally Field earned an Academy Award for her portrayal of a young woman who becomes a union organizer at a textile mill in Norma Rae.

LABOR DAY 2019 WEEKEND BEER PICK

With Labor Day signaling the un-official end to summer, we’ll be celebrating it’s passing like we did on Memorial Day…with pilsners. And pFriem Family Brewers makes a great one! Bright, balanced and just about perfect, pFriem Family Brewers Pilsner is a 4.9% ABV classic German Pilsner that never disappoints.
