In spite of the more than 7500 craft breweries currently online in the US, we continue to receive new announcements almost daily.
And here’s just some of what’s happening…
Upland Brewing Opens New Indianapolis Brewery
On August 1 Upland Brewing will be opening the doors to an all-ages destination with a full-service restaurant, a beer garden and the Bloomington, Indiana-headquartered company’s first brewery in Indianapolis.
Located in the city’s vibrant Fountain Square District, Upland FSQ will feature a small-batch brewery for tinkering and barrel-aging. The bar holds 26 taps, 22 taps are an assortment of Upland beers including their year-round classics, sour ales, barrel-aged beers, and kombucha. In addition to beer, guests can enjoy wine, coffee, and a craft cocktail on tap.
Upland FSQ also features a massive dog-friendly beer garden and garage-style doors adjacent to the bar that will open on nice days for walk-up service.
With the Indianapolis’ Cultural Trail just one block away, Upland FSQ is accessible by car, bike or foot. There’s also an on-site bike shop, powered by Gray Goat Bicycle Co. where bike and beer fans can score bike gear and grab a beer at the same stop.
Stoup Brewing Expands Its Vision and Production Space
Stoup Brewing, a hugely popular Pacific Northwest brewery located in Ballard, Seattle Washington’s trendy waterside neighborhood, has added 6000 square foot production space adjacent to its exiting operation.
Located on the ground floor of a new building that sits directly behind Stoup’s 2000 square foot beer garden, the new space has allows the Stoup team to move all the bright tanks, keg washing, cold storage, and packaging out of the brewery.
Brewing will remain in Stoup’s original 3000 square foot space and with the addition of new fermenters, Stoup will ultimately triple production.
“The new space is great for special projects we’ve been wanting to tackle,” said Lara Zahaba, co-owner. “We’re excited to start experimenting with more mixed culture and sour beers.”
“We also plan to be more than a draft only brewery,” adds Robyn Schumacher, co-owner and brewer. “Our intention is to offer packaged beers in the first quarter of 2020.”
