5 UK Beer Trends (Birmingham, England) – Brewbroker is an online platform dedicated to connecting breweries operating at less than capacity, with beer startups who are looking to craft their own line of products without the economic burden that comes with owning their own facility.
Brewbroker discovered that many breweries were operating at 40% capacity, while many start-ups, established brewers, and trade customers were looking to scale up. And its uber-successful platform has afforded them all kinds of interesting data points as to where the beer biz is going with an emphasis on the UK.
5 Key trends from Brewbrokers’ industry analysis
- Alcohol free beer is very much on the up, and there is now a growing interest in CBD infusions
- Dietary requirements have become increasingly important to brewing, whether it’s gluten free, vegan and/or organic. These are no longer niche brewing directions
- Not surprisingly, 68% of Brewbroker users are positive about contracting out the brewing process. Contract brewing is no longer dirty words in the brewing industry
- The majority of Brewbroker tenders are start-ups, looking to grow their brand without expanding their bricks and mortar brewery
