Brooklyn craft beer guru Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø — author, bar owner and founder of Evil Twin Brewing — is selling his nearly six-acre, post-modern Danish farmhouse in Millerton, NY.
And it’s a very cool place if you’ve got the cash…
Billed as a “prime weekend community in the picturesque Hudson Valley,” Jeppe Jarnit-Bjergsø’s getaway is located north of NYC, up near the Connecticut border, just an hour’s drive from Hudson, Rhinebeck and the Berkshires.
And it sounds like a drive worth taking…
The Dutchess County estate provides the utmost in privacy and it’s tricked out with a new, contemporary pool with Jacuzzi and wooden deck, an indoor/outdoor shower and a fire pit that’s perfect for your next serious beer gathering.
Originally designed by Grzywinski + Pons in 2011, an architectural firm renowned for its commitment to beauty, innovation and a rigorous approach to detail, Jarnit-Bjergsø’s home features energy-efficient systems, sustainable materials and unique subway tiling in the kitchen and bathrooms.
The 2,150-square-foot home has an open floorplan with three bedrooms, a master suite with terrace and an outdoor dining area.
A guest bedroom on the first floor offers a large bath with an open-air glass shower and the second story light-filled master suite has its own private balcony with country views and European style bath.
There’s also a separate self-contained one bedroom guest house on the grounds that continues the unabashedly modern design while retaining the warm atmosphere and vibe of the compound.
Jarnit-Bjergsø — who founded Evil Twin Brewing in Denmark in 2010 — opened the company’s first brick and mortar brewery in Ridgewood, Queens earlier this year.
He also runs a bar in Brooklyn called Tørst considered to be the “Holy of Holies” for beer geeks, with a rotating draft list is a veritable Murderers’ Row of who’s who in the beer world.
Jarnit-Bjergsø also co-authored the book “Food & Beer” with chef Daniel Burns, who runs Michelin-starred restaurant Luksus that shares space with Tørst.
Listed with Andrew Gates of Houlihan Lawrence, Jarnit-Bjergsø’s digs is currently available for a cool $1.39 million, so act now or you’re going to be kicking yourself.
