SingleCut Beersmiths Announce Plans For ‘SingleCut North’
So as things continue settle from last Monday’s announcement that Shmaltz Brewing had sold their Clifton Park, NY facility to SingleCut Beersmiths, the uber-hot Queens brewery has renamed their future location SingleCut North and are letting it be known that they’ve big things coming.
Here’s the deal…
SingleCut’s purchase of Shmaltz’s big brewery and tap room at Fairchild Square in Clifton Park, a brewery that Shmaltz had built and moved East for just five years ago, signals that the Queens NY craft brewer is poised to up its presence significantly in in the NYC region and widen its foothold in NY State.
In its website announcement SingleCut, the first full-scale brewery in Queens since Prohibition, detailed what ‘SingleCut North’ means for the company as well as their transition timeline…
“This expansion ensure that our loyal bars, bottle shops, restaurants, and high-end grocers currently offering SC are always stocked with fresh and available kegs and cans…SingleCut North will focus on creating your favorite go-to beers … With this new volume, we’re working to save you a few bucks too.
Over the next few month, Shmaltz Brewing will continue portioning at the Clifton Park facility for a transitional period and will maintain the tasting room/retail space until late 2018.
We’re incredibly thankful to Jeremy Cowan and the Shmaltz team for giving us first crack at this amazing brewery…They’ve built a beautiful brewery, we’re honored to make it SingleCut North”
Founded in 2012, SingleCut has been operating at full capacity for two year and given that expansion space in NYC is not only in short supply but also very expensive, SingleCut North will afford them a brewhouse with a 50 barrel capacity and the opportunity to spread their brand further into New York State.
Over the next couple of months, SingleCut’s brewing team will transition to Clifton Park to oversee the new operations which is also expected to incorporate some Shmaltz veterans…And going forward their Astoria, Queens’s facility will dedicate its efforts to delving deeper into experimental IPAs, lagers, and other envelope-pushing brewing directions.
