5 Hot New Summertime Beers and Special Releases
We can barely keep up with all the new seasonals and special releases coming down the pike. And here are five “uber-interesting” newbies that you might want to spend some time with!
Beer Run (Eugene, OR) – Ninkasi Brewing has returned a popular special release that’s now been named the official beer of leading running non-profit, “Track Town USA.” Available In bottles and on draft now through September, Ninkasi Beer Run IPA is a 7.3% ABV India Pale Ale with an aggressively tropical hop profile and a winning athletic finish!
Peach Bummed (Minneapolis, MN) – Indeed Brewing has a new summer seasonal that soon will ripe for the picking. Sporting subtle aromatic notes of fresh peaches, apricots and blueberries, Indeed Peach Bum IPA (great name!) is a juicy and tropical India Pale Ale that’s brewed with June’s sun-drenched temperatures in mind.
Going To Helles (St Louis, MO) – The German word “Helles” translates as “light” and Schlafly Beer does a great version of one of our favorite styles. Straw-colored, light and bright Schlafly Helles-Style Summer Lager is a 4.5% ABV summertime pleasure that takes it lead from the Spaten Brewery’s marriage of British, Bohemian and German brewing techniques.
South Of The border Temptress (Garland, TX) – We’re big fans of Lakewood Brewing and appreciate just about everything they do. And we just received the latest release from their provocative Seduction Series and it is fantastic! Brewed as homage to the traditional Mexican sauce mad with a variety of exotic dried peepers and dark chocolate, Lakewood Mole Temptress Imperial Milk Stout is a 9.1% ABV exercise in practiced seduction, that’s brewed with lactose sugar, vanilla, an exotic medley of chilies, capped off with fresh cacao and cinnamon. Yesssssssssssssssssssssssss!
Getting Raddled (Denver, CO) – Great Divide’s founder Brian Dunn is a bigtime cyclist and they recently released a German-style spring seasonal with historic roots that can be traced back European bike competitions. A carefully calibrated blend uber-light ale and all-natural Grapefruit puree, Great Divide Roadie Radler is a hazy-gold 4.2% ABV hot weather refresher, just bursting with citrusy attitude.
