10 Best Brews For Diabetic Beer Lovers

, 10 Best Brews For Diabetic Beer Lovers

We all know someone who has been diagnosed as diabetic. And some of them are beer fans who have to watch their alcohol and carb intake, which can make things difficult.

Diabetes causes lower-than-normal production or function of insulin, the hormone that helps keep your blood sugar levels in check, so blood sugar management is important.

And now Draft Mag has come up with a list of 10 beers that diabetics can enjoy and although only one of them are craft brand, all of them are BEER.

Low alcohol and lower carbohydrate beers, but BEER.

Draft Mag determined that the best beer type for a diabetic is “generally one with lower alcohol content and reduced carbohydrates” and pointed out that “light beers, session IPAs, and certain craft beers labelled as ‘low-carb’ or ‘diabetic-friendly’ would obviously be smarter choices.

And their report is a reminder the many big beer brands offer much lighter beers that vary in alcohol and carbohydrate content and can keep  blood sugar levels of both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetic persons where they should be, assuming they’re consumed in moderation.

Here, are their top picks of light and low-carb beers, primarily big beer brands, that Draft Mag considered to be most appropriate for people with diabetes…Some of them with alcohol, others not and again only one of them, Dogfish Head, is truely a craft beer.
