Hoppy Holidays (Portland, OR) – Widmer Brothers is returning a holiday favorite that they’ve been brewing annually since 2007 and it’s always welcome. Full-bodied and (of course) deep amber in color Brrr Hoppy Red is a 7.2% ABV Northwest Red Ale that we’d pretty much drink all year round.
Sweet Dreams Are Made Of This (Rochester, NY) –Genesee Brewing is once again celebrating the onset of winter by returning Genesee Brew House release as part their Pilot Batch Series. Brewed with boutique chocolate from Hedonist Artisan Chocolates, Genesee Brewhouse Salted Caramel Chocolate Porter is a rich 6.5% porter variation hat’s even more perfect this time of year.
Do Clutch (Ft Collins, CO) – In December New Belgium Brewing will be returning a collaboration that they brewed Maryland-based band Clutch back in 2011 as part of their Lips of Faith Series. New Belgium Clutch is a 9% ABV Darks Sour Ale that’s blended with 20% Oscar a barrel-aged base beer that also serves as the foundation for La Folie.
Something Hot For The Cold (Frederick, MD) – Flying Dog is countering winter’s coming with a timely new Heat Series release that looks south of the border. A melding of the traditional Witbier with Mexico’s most celebrated hot pepper, Flying Dog’s 5.5% ABV Heat Series Jalapeno White Ale promises to keep you warm as temperatures plummet.
Winter Pale (Seattle, WA) – Elysian is returning a popular favorite that’s not your obvious winter seasonal. Brewed with Premium 2-Row, Munich, and Crystal malts and Magnum, Amarillo, and Styrian Golding hops, Elysian Bifrost Winter Ale is a MASSIVE 8.3% Pale Ale with a surprisingly citrus-forward nose.
