WEEKEND PICKS: The Vermont Brewers Festival, Rocketman, Pitchfork 2019

The Vermont Brewers Festival Returns (Burlington, VT) – An important part of any great beer festival is its setting. Yes the beer served remains vitally important, but great beer in a spectacular locale makes things special… For that reason alone we NEVER miss the Vermont Brewers Festival which takes place this weekend (July 19th-20th), on the shores of Lake Champlain overlooking the Adirondack Mountains.

One of the premier beer festivals in the world, The Vermont Brewers Festival has been held on the third weekend of July every year since it first launched in 1991. Hosted by the Vermont Brewers Association this year marks the 27th anniversary of the festival, making it one of the longest-running beer events in the nation.

The 2019 Vermont Brewers Festival will feature more than 50 of the region’s most dynamic breweries including New England heavy hitters players like The Alchemist and Burlington favs like Zero Gravity and Switchback Brewing so you absolutely don’t want to miss it!

On The Big Screen – Rock star movies have been on a Roll lately starting with last year’s A Star Is Born which delivered a surprisingly realistic depiction of life on the road. Bohemian Rhapsody’s was an amazingly entertaining Queen bio-pic and Rami Malik took home an Oscar for his portrayal of the doomed Freddie Mercury. But according to critics it’s going to be “a long, long time” before a rock biopic manages to capture the highs and lows of Elton John’s career like Rocketman.

Musical Madness Returns To The Windy City (Chicago, IL) – Now celebrating its 14th year in action, the internationally acclaimed Pitchfork Music Festival, returns Union Park this weekend for four days (July 19th-22rd) of the most vital music on the planet! With more than 40 bands and artists that kill it, you don’t want to miss artists like HAIM, or Robyn. For the complete lineup and stage times check out: Pitchfork 2019

The ACB crew will be enjoying something new from Lagunitas this weekend which is basically a hazy take on one of their most popular limited releases. Lagunitas Little Sumpin’ Hazy is a 7.2% ABV citrus fueled and boldly unfiltered “blast in a glass.”
