2021, hopefully a better year, is officially ON.  And we’ve some fun new beer releases to pair with your weekend.

Life In Flux At Creature Comforts (Athens, GA) – On January 16 the Creature Comforts wood cellar will be releasing its biggest stout of the year. And 2020’s release comes with two additional variations.

Creature Comforts Life In Flux is a massive 13.9% ABV Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout. Each year the brewery blends its annual vintage from a series of select whiskey barrels, making every release a truly one-of-a-kind experience. The 2020 blend consists of stouts ranging from 14-19 months with an average age of 17.5 months in barrels.

Creature Comforts also created two highly limited variants from the main blend.

Life In Flux w/Vanilla and Coffee features an Ethiopian coffee blend from 1000 Faces Coffee and Ugandan and Mexican vanilla. Life in Flux w/ Coconut and Cocoa Nibs features a mix of toasted and raw coconut.

Pure Adirondack Craft Beer (North Hudson, NY) – Paradox Brewery has just released its first specialty beer of 2021 and it’s a difficult style that many would never attempt. Straightforward yet complex at the same time, Paradox Sonder Bräu is a 5.99% ABV soft-textured Pale Lager that was inspired by the classic Dortmunder Export, the most popular beer from the end of WW II, through 1970, when it was supplanted by the Pilsner.

New Fashioned (Portland, OR) – Cascade Brewing  has a new release that’s a tribute to the Old Fashioned cocktail. Cascade Contemporary Fashion is a 12.2% ABV Sour Quad Ale aged in Bourbon barrels for up to two years with orange peel, then infused with aromatic bitters made by Portland Bitters Project., Weekend Drinking: New Pale Lagers And Imperial Stouts

Colossal (Newport, OR) – Rogue Ales has introduced a new year-round offering inspired by a gigantic sea monster rumored to have been sighted in the Oregon’s coastal waters. Brewed with a monstrous dosing of Cascade, Chinook, Citra and Strata hops, Rogue Colossal Claude is an 8.2% ABV Imperial IPA with big citrus aromatics and a soft bitter finish.
