Indianapolis based Sun King Brewing, Indiana’s second largest brewery, has taken a partial stake in Kokomo Brewing which operated under the name Tin Man Kokomo and will be giving it a rebrand.

Upon reopening in July, Tin Man Kokomo which is located in Kokomo, Indiana just short of 50 miles north of Indianapolis, will renamed Sun King Tap Room & Brewery.

Owner Amanda Lewton will continue to manage overall business operations, but Sun King will take a minority ownership and will oversee the on-site brewing program and recipe development….

, Tin Man Kokomo To Reopen As Sun King Tap Room & Brewery“We are very excited to align with Sun King who shares our values and focus on community,” said Lewton. They have always been a great resource within the industry and our team can’t wait to tap into their experience to create our own special Sun King beers called Kokomo Small Batch. We will make some cosmetic changes inside our taproom and look forward to this new journey and continuing to serve our loyal customers.”

Sun King Brewing, which established its flagship brewery in downtown Indianapolis in 2009 and has since expanded to Fishers, Carmel and Broad Ripple, will also support operational, marketing and logistical needs in Kokomo going forward.

And the brewery says the downtown Kokomo location will remain family, and dog-friendly.

“Amanda and the team at Kokomo Brewing Company have created a great community and guest experience, and made some great beers over the years,” said Clay Robinson, founder of Sun King Brewery….

“We are excited to invest in their growth and collaborate with their team to help create new beers and expand Sun King’s presence in Indiana.”
