Drinking in The Gateway City (Saint Louis, MO) – The 2016 St. Louis Microfest is returning to Forest Park this weekend and it’s going to be a total blast. This two-day (May 6^th – 7^th), three-session event will feature beer from the region’s best craft brewers and international offerings as well. There will be food and live music, brewer and chef demonstrations, and all kinds of cool things going on. Profits from the festival go toward funding Lift For Life Gym, an organization that has provided safe activities for children 8 to 18 years old, five evenings a week, all free of charge since 1988. On The Big Screen – Superheroes face-off against fellow superheroes this weekend in Captain America: Winter Solider and the buzz on this new Marvel comic offering is through the roof.  Some critics are calling this Captain America saga, the best superhero dust-up of ALL TIME, so there’s that. Chris Evans reprises his role as Captain America, as does Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) and Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow).

A Crafty Canadian Beerganza (Calgary) – The 12^th annual Calgary International Beerfestis taking place this weekend and the world will never be the same. This two-day event will feature more than 500 cutting-edge offerings from some 80+ renowned regional and international breweries. And in addition to the massive beer rollout, there will also be 40 artisan restaurants on hand to cater to your every whim. If you’ve been thinking about hitting a major league beer festival north of the border, this is your chance – so don’t blow it.

TV Time – ACB’s home offices are in Washington, DC. And in this town, politicians are everywhere and they are treated more as celebrities, than esteemed dignitaries. Veep, which recently returned to HBO for its fifth season, skewers this faux-political class (and its enablers) brilliantly and we love them for it. Julia Louis-Dreyfus stars as Selina Meyer a one-time Vice President who is, at least for now, hilariously the
President of the United States.
