Hey it’s Friday… and if you’re like us, you’re ready for some fun. Well good, because we’ve got all kinds of ideas for you. From the nation’s coolest beer festivals to movies, music and cutting edge TV – we’ve got your back big-time. Plus we’ve a weekend beer pick for you too, because we know you’ll be drinking!
So welcome to another Weekend Picks…
A Classic Throwdown (Athens, GA) – A classic returns to a great beer town this Sunday, April 10th and you’d better have a damned good excuse if you’re not going to be there. One of the highlights of Athens Beer Week, the 2016 Classic City Brew Fest will feature more than 400 crafted rarities and world class offerings. There’s also going to be a special cask ale pavilion with over 30 Real Ales – so you will have enough to drink.
On The Big Screen – There’s a new video game like action flick opening this weekend which might be a visionary experience – or could be an irredeemable waste of time. Hardcore Henry is a first-person action flick that seen from the eyes of its protagonist, a Jason Borne-like loner with no memory.
What Happens In Vegas (Las Vegas, NV) – The 6th Annual Great Vegas Festival of Beer returns to “Sin City” this Saturday, April 9th and it promises to be a total blast. This year’s late-afternoon beerganza will feature more than 400 artisan creations from the region’s most exciting brewers along with educational seminars, designer food and killer music. For a complete listing of all the breweries attending check out: Great Vegas 2016
TV Time – It had no reason to be as good as it is… but you’ve got to give it to the first in FX’s American Crime Story anthology series. This 10 episode courtroom drama, was based on Jeffrey Toobin’s best-selling book on the OJ Simpson trial, and is executed by a seasoned cast. The People v. O.J. Simpson approaches what still might be legitimately called “the trial of the century”, as both the crime it was -and as an unflinching look at American society – and succeeds on every level. Expect an Emmy nomination for Sarah Paulson’s turn as Prosecutor Marcia Clark – and Courtney B. Vance doesn’t suck either as OJ’s defense lawyer, Johnnie Cochran. Don’t miss this!
Our Awesome Weekend Beer Pick
