The American Craft Beer Rumor Mill – February 10, 2016
Yikes it’s February already… and clearly nothing is slowing down anytime soon. But no worries, Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in to all the craft beer news that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you absolutely don’t want to miss that.

R2Hop2 Returns (Dover, DE) – Fordham & Dominion’s 5th annual R2Hop2 Beer and Music Festival returns to the brewery’s grounds on April 23rd and tickets are now on sale. This super-fun day will be filled with great music, artisan eats and most importantly, serious beer. And it can sell out quickly – so you’ve been warned…

Words To Drink By (Los Angeles, CA) – “Bitterness is a very bad look…It rots you from inside.”
Bob Lefsetz – Music Analyst & Writer
Pliny Alert/Pliny Alert/Pliny Alert (Santa Rosa, CA) – Russian River’s legendary Triple IPA, Piney the Younger has officially made its 2016 return to the brewery’s California compound – and the lines haven’t let up since its arrival on February 5th. After all, this year’s 10.25% Younger is neither bottled nor available in growlers, so the only way to enjoy it, is right from the source, or at a handful of select draft accounts. This year’s Pliny celebration runs through February 18th – so you know what to do.

What We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – We’d like to thank all of the American craft breweries who’ve shipped us beer from time to time. It’s always great to sample the brews that we write about and it helps us have a better feel for what’s happening out there. Last night we hit up their latest Debut Series “draft-only’ release from our friends at Starr Hill. Midnight black, with a rich dark chocolate and vanilla aroma, Starr Hill Debut Double Chocolate Stout is a full-bodied, 7.8% ABV Imperial with a deep creamy head and a lingering mouthfeel.
