We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. There was little need to check in for updates – things were pretty much done. But clearly all that’s changed.

So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourselves

Rest In Peace Scott (Bloomington, MN) – We were saddened tonight to learn that , THE AMERICAN CRAFT BEER – QUICK HITSScott Weiland, former lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver was found dead Thursday evening on his tour bus in Minnesota. We can’t say that we didn’t see this coming, but still, he will be missed.

Europe Gets Stone (Berlin, Germany) – Stone Brewing is pouring their first Berlin-brewed beers at about bout 40 bars, restaurants & breweries across Europe today. We’re happy for them and expect that the world will never be the same! Greg Koch flew in last night to be part of all the launch festivities and tipped us to the fact that they’re hoping to open the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens – Berlin at the end of March.

On December 3rd, beer writer and photographer, Breandán Kearney was named Beer Writer of the Year 2015 at the British Guild of Beer Writers’ annual awards ceremony.
