Shiner To Air Super Bowl Commercial

Part of the deal about the Super Bowl is its commercials. These uber-expensive advertising nuggets spawn all kinds of attention, especially the Big Beer commercials which over the years have been dismissive of craft beer.

Big Beer has deep pockets and the kind of money to throw at these kinds of things…craft beer not so much. But now the Spoetzl Brewery home to Shiner Bock and considered to be the nation’s 5th largest craft brewer, (at least according to the to the Brewers Association’s definition) has announced that they’re bringing their game to the Super Bowl.

Billed as the next phase of Spoetzl Brewery’s ‘This is Shiner Country’ campaign this 30 second, $1.2 million Super Bowl spot will run at this year’s epic face-off between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.

According to the Shiner, Texas-based brewery, “this is the first time that the craft beer brand will debut a TV commercial at this level. In its press release Spoetzl Brewery explained that they’ll be using that pricy time to reinforce Shiner’s position “as the iconic Texas craft beer loved by longtime residents while giving a warm welcome to new faces, with a country music twist.”

“This is a huge step for Shiner,” according to Gregor Mina, Spoetzl Brewery’s Director of Marketing and they’re taking it seriously….

“For us, this is a big financial investment; we want to expand our message to reach as many Texans as we can and what better way to do that than by leveraging a Super Bowl spot with all of the incredible attention that it receives.’

And Mina adds that the 2018 Super Bowl spot was produced to further capitalize huge increase in population throughout the state of Texas…

“Last year, more people moved to Texas than any other state in the country…The ad reflects how throughout the years, Shiner has woven itself into the rich history and culture of Texas and has become known to all for being familiar, friendly and welcoming. We truly believe that Shiner is Texas, and we want to offer all of these new Texans an ice-cold welcome.”, Shiner To Air Super Bowl Commercial

Too bad the Dallas Cowboys didn’t have a better season…just sayin.’

Following its Super Bowl LII debut, the Shiner spot will continue to appear in Texas markets throughout the year with a focus on local cable and sports broadcasts, including NFL, NBA and MLB.
