These are no longer normal times…So why drink something normal, when you can drink something serious?
Cherry Oh! (Austin, TX) – On July 17th Jester King Brewery returned its seventh variation of a classic, the first and possibly only time it will be available in 750ml bottles. Jester King Montmorency vs Balaton (Batch 7) is a 6.7% ABV barrel-aged Wild Ale re-fermented with both Montmorency and Balatonare cherries.
Opulent (Portland, OR) – Von Ebert Brewing, an award-winning and locally owned brewery, recently released its first new draft-only beer since reopening for dine-in service. Von Ebert Opulent Figurine is a foeder-fermented mixed culture beer with marionberries, a type of blackberry that was bred at Oregon State University. The base beer is a mix of Bohemian pilsner malt, malted spelt, and Mecca Grade Estate Malt’s raw white wheat. It was fermented and aged in a foeder before the marionberries were added. Once mature, the beer was keg conditioned and is available as a draft-only offering now.
Same Recipe New Name (Escondido, CA) – Amidst endless collaborations and steadfast innovation, Stone Brewing has announced that one of its bestselling year-round beers is getting an updated name, brand new packaging and (drum roll please) the same old recipe. Now with a new name (which basically consists of an additional four letter word) Stone Tangerine Express HAZY IPA remains a 6.7% ABV juicy India Pale Ale with fresh tangerine and pineapple puree and a lingering finish.
Blended Brilliance (New Holland, MI) – In August New Holland Brewing will begin offering something intriguing which starts with its classic Dragon’s Milk Imperial Stout as its base beer. Dragon’s Milk Solera is a 10 percent ABV Imperial Stout blend, a mix of different aged beers that are combined using a fractional blending method known as (you got it) Solera.
