Yikes the elections and November’s just flying by…and clearly the craft beer biz isn’t slowing down anytime soon. But no worries, Rumor Mill is always on the case, keeping you plugged in into all the beer news and lifestyle that matters. Plus we’ve an all-important update on what we’ve been drinking lately and you don’t want to miss that!

Constellation Brands Gets Trumped (Victor, NY) – Constellation Brands, the third biggest beer company in America and  home to major Mexican brands such as Corona, Pacifico and Negro Modelo is already feeling the economic aftereffects of last week’s Presidential elections.

Shares of Constellation Brands reportedly dropped more than eight percent last Wednesday over concerns that a Trump, who favors imposing higher taxes on Mexican imports, could hurt the company. (Yah think?)

Constellation’s distribution rights in the states for their “south of the border” brands were acquired from Anheuser-Busch InBev back in 2013 when it purchased Grupo Modelo, and according to Motley Fool has helped fuel the company’s earnings growth since, with net income growing 19% in the latest quarter.

Words To Drink By (Munster, IN) – “There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in. – Leonard Cohen (1934-2016)

, Rumor Mill – Mexican Beer Biz Feeling The Trump VictorySHOCKER – America’s Largest Mexican Beer Distributor Considers Getting Into The Marijuana Biz (Victor, NY) – In yet more fallout from last Tuesday’s elections, which in addition to choosing a president also legalized the recreational use of marijuana in four states (California, Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada), comes the maybe not all that surprising news that Constellation Brands, America’s largest Mexican beer distributor, may be getting into the pot trade. Last Thursday Constellation CEO Rob Sands told Bloomberg that the company will be exploring weed-infused beverages going forward and we can’t imagine they will have any problem done that way finding a connection. Just sayin’….

, Rumor Mill – Mexican Beer Biz Feeling The Trump VictoryWhat We’ve Been Drinking Lately (Washington, DC) – Devils Backbone has shipped their fall Adventure Pack – a great collection that showcases favorites from their Basecamp Brewpub & Meadows facility – and last night we hit up another great addition from it. With its hand-written label design (scripted by Devils Backbone’s own Jason Oliver), Berliner Metro Weiss is an award-winning 3.9% ABV German-style Sour that’s reason enough to chase this adventurous 12-pack down.
