Molson Coors has been making news this week what with its Atwater Brewing acquisition play and now this…

Molson Coors owned Revolver Brewing has announced the February 20th opening of a new small batch facility in an entertainment district in Arlington, Texas.

Based in inside Texas Live!, a 200,000 square-foot dining, entertainment and sports complex in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, Revolver’s BLDG 5 brewery, will be a 10-barrel smaller-batch operation.

Revolver’s new brewery will be “fronted by BLDG 5 Taproom, a brewpub and tasting room operated by Texas Live! that will serve beer from Revolver and other brewers,” according to Behind the Beer. “It also will serve a limited menu and feature outdoor seating that flows into the Miller Beer Garden courtyard.”

, Revolver Brewing Pulls Trigger On Second BreweryThis is a big opportunity for us,” Rhett Keisler, Revolver’s co-founder explained to BTB’s Peter Frost.  “The idea here is that we view it as an extension of our Granbury brewery, Since we know not everyone can make it down to Granbury, we’re trying to bring a little bit of Granbury up here.”

Keisler also explained that Revolver’s Granbury brewery compound has four buildings, each named for the order in which they were erected. “Revolver’s BLDG 5 brewery represents the company’s fifth physical location and the first beyond Granbury, a smaller city a little more than 50 miles southwest of Arlington, Texas.

The new small batch brewery is the latest step in Miller Coors’ initiative to personalize its craft beer properties and flex a little more creative muscle.

“It’s really pushing everything we’re all about,” Keisler added. “It’s going to allow us to stretch our legs on some new beers and innovation while putting us in front of a lot of people. It’s going to be a great challenge, and we’re excited for it.”
