American Craft Beer attracts both brewing professionals and passionate beer fans (that’s what we are), so news that the nation’s most important beer competition, the World Beer Cup, is now open to breweries hoping to get their beers recognized, is a big deal.

Winning a World Beer Cup is like winning a Grammy an Emmy or Oscar…it brings the world’s attention to even the smallest brewery’s doorstep…and like a hit song or film, it can make a career.

The largest and most prestigious professional beer competition in the world, the World Beer Cup, was held every two years but due to its immense popularity the Brewers Association who sponsor the competition are now returning it annually.

Unlike many competitions held in the US, this event is open to all brewers pitting craft breweries like Allagash against big beer companies such as Anheuser-Busch or Molson Coors. And it’s open to professional breweries around the globe that meet all legal and permitting requirements for breweries in their respective country.

The Brewers Association started the World Beer Cup in 1996 to celebrate the global art and science of brewing. Beers are judged by a panel of elite international judges and the top three beers in each category are presented gold, silver, and bronze awards.

Registration for the 2024 World Beer Cup begins on November 7 and runs through December 7, 2023. Additional information on the application process, shipping consolidation points, and more can be found on WorldBeerCup.org.

, Registration For the “Olympics Of Beer” Opens“Year after year, the World Beer Cup continues to be the heartbeat of our global brewing community, a stage where we raise a toast to the excellence, passion, and innovation of the best pints in the world,” said Chris Williams, competition director…

“As we embark on this sensational journey toward the 2024 competition, I am excited to see what brews these exceptional breweries bring to this year’s competition. Get ready to be amazed because this year, the World Beer Cup is about to set the brewing world on fire!”

In 2023, the prestigious competition saw 10,213 entries from 2,376 breweries representing 51 different countries. The event was annualized last year because of high demand.

Winners of the 2024 World Beer Cup will be announced on April 24, 2024, at The Venetian in Las Vegas, NV (Vegas Baby!) at the Brewers Association’s annual Craft Brewers Conference® & BrewExpo America®.

The 2024 World Beer Cup award ceremony will also be livestreamed on The Brewing Network.
