Because it’s Christmas (and we’ve nothing better to do)…we’re republishing some craft beer carols by Dave Stratton, ACB’s LA Correspondent, who writes comedy when he’s not drinking like a madman or covering the American craft beer waterfront for us.
Randolph The Red-Toned Amber
You know Fat Tire and Boont and Evil Dead and Alaskan,
Red Rocket and Hop Back and Cinder Cone and Levitation,
But do you recall?
The most famous Amber Ale of all?
Randolph the Red-toned Amber Ale
Has a very malty bill,
And if you ever tried it,
You would know it’s far from swill.
All of the other Ambers
Used to laugh and call it names;
They’d never let poor Randolph
Join in any drinking games.
Then one foggy bottling eve,
Santa came to say,
Randolph, with your hue so bright,
Won’t you be my beer tonight?
Then all beer nerds now loved him
As they shouted out with glee,
Randolph the Red-toned Amber,
You’ll go down in history
