The beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s some more of what’s been happening in the beer world, while you were drinking your way into December.

Founders Detroit Taproom Opens! (Michigan) – Founders Brewing’s much-anticipated mid-town Detroit taproom opens to the public today. This is Founders’ first taproom ever outside of their Grand Rapid’s hub and the fact that they chose to open it in Detroit speaks volumes as to their commitment to their east-side fans and the iconic city that is their home.

beer, Quick Hits – Rivals Moves To Fat Head’s Brewery, Founders Detroit Opens And More!Located in the heart of the uber-hip Cass Corridor adjacent to arenas, music venues and more, Founders Detroit’s new 14,000-square-foot space, is a slightly smaller take on their Grand Rapid’s taproom, but one with an authentically Detroit attitude.

With its expansive 40 taps, the brewery’s new Motown venue will offer the total Founders experience and serve up everything from traditionals like Founders All Day IPA and Porter, to rarer opportunities like Nitro Rubaeus or their Bourbon Barrel-Aged Sumatra Mountain Brown.

And although the brewery hasn’t officially announced it, we’ve got to think you’re going to find Founder’s rare Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) at this grand opening…but you had better get there early…just sayin.’

Rivals To Occupy Fat Head’s Current Location  (Middleburg Heights, OH) – What started as Rivals Sports Grille, and evolved into Rivals Brewing Co., has taken another step and agreed to buy Fat Head’s Brewery‘s production equipment at their current location and will be leasing that space, after The Fat Head’s crew move to their new brewery which is still under construction.

Rivals, who are currently contracting out their beers to Hop View Brewing, will continue that relationship while they transition into Fat Head’s old space, hire a new brewing team, and relaunch in May.beer, Quick Hits – Rivals Moves To Fat Head’s Brewery, Founders Detroit Opens And More!

Fat Head’s (who also opened a brew pub in Portland, Oregon last year), broke ground  in late July on a new $13 Million 75,000 square foot destination production facility which once it opens is expected to double their production capability.
