We blame the industry for this… It used to be that when we wrapped up our Weekend Picks on Friday, we could coast through the weekend. But clearly all that’s changed. So here’s some of what’s happened in the world of craft beer while you were off enjoying yourself.
Sometimes You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up (San Diego, CA) – We have a pretty broad sense of humor here at ACB, but even we couldn’t have come up with Modern Times Beer’s very real announcement that they posted on their site last Friday.
Leisuretown is the name Modern Times Beer’s trippy new compound that they plan to open in Anaheim in 2017 and words like “ambitious” let alone “audacious” don’t even begin to do this project justice. Described as a “a garden of earthly delights” in downtown Anaheim,” Leisuretown will be a craft beer and stoner’s pipe dream if they pull this thing off.
Designed by LAB (the urban development group behind the Anaheim Packing District, LAB Anti-Mall, and the CAMP) the sprawling 31,927 square ft. complex will include; a foeder-lined funky/sour brewing facility housed in a spectacular wooden warehouse, a designer café & restaurant lodged in an historic craftsman home, a Modern Times swag & bottle pick-up location, and a SWIMMING POOL complete with a poolside bar, inflatable toys and a movie screen!

Is Upstate NY Offering Brooklyn Brewery “A Deal They Can’t Refuse?” (Brooklyn, NY) – Ever since 2014 Brooklyn Brewery has been looking for an appropriate location to build a new production facility. As we’ve reported earlier, they were 
honing in on a Staten Island location but now the Staten Island Advance is now reporting that the brewery may have changed its mind and might be considering upstate NY instead.
