, Quick Hits: Heineken’s “One In A Billion” Holiday Bottle Designs / Hill Farmstead’s “Hops Not Hate” BeerThe beer biz never sleeps at American Craft Beer. And here’s just some of what’s been happening while you were enjoying a long Labor Day weekend.

Hill Farmstead’s Hop Not Hate Beer

New Hampshire-based Hill Farmstead Brewery has joined Copenhagen’s renowned Norrebro Bryghus brewery in crafting a beer as part of an international charity program called Hops Not Hate.

Inspired by the Syrian refugee crisis, the campaign invites brewers around the world to create a special release where each participant in the beer supply chain — brewer, distributor, bar, bottler — commits to donating at least 50% of net profits from it to two charities, one global and one local.

Hill Farmstead Leaves of Grass is described as “a Farmstead ale incorporating pale malt, malted wheat, and organic corn, and Hallertau Blanc, Wai-iti, and Amarillo hops. That beer was then aged in wine barrels for nearly six months, then conditioned for over two years in the bottle.”

For the upcoming holiday season Heineken has created ‘unlimited’ different bottles, each with a unique number and design. Using innovative technology that incorporates a smart algorithm and high-speed digital printing, each bottle will have millions of different, festive patterns, ensuring no two bottles are alike.

“We’re using a digital printer programmed with a smart algorithm to create millions of different patterns incorporating the iconic Heineken color palette,” says Roxanne Mercado, Heineken Brand Manager, HEINEKEN USA. “This unique concept balances cutting-edge technology to create a truly personalized product offering.”
