Suttons Bay’s Hop Lot Brewing knows how to weather Northern Michigan’s snowy winters better than most. With beer in hand in a striking outdoor setting and maybe an igloo (or four).

Here’s the deal…

According to Mlive  Hop Lot Brewing’s co-founding brothers, Drew and Steve Lutke, where looking to take advantage of their incredible outdoor space and embrace Michigan’s snowy winters at the same time, when they happened upon Garden Igloos, an award-winning European product that had made its way to the states.

And now they’ve installed four outdoor igloo cabanas that surround the roaring outdoor fire pit in their wooded beer garden that are perfect for enjoying a Woad Warrior Scotch Ale or a Ransom Not Double Black IPA as the snow falls.

Named one of Michigan’s best new breweries in 2016, Hop Lot tends to draw bigger crowds in the summer but that could be changing. With their newest outdoor addition, Hop Lot Brewing has fast become a destination for craft beer fans from all over the region who are serious about their beer (and don’t mind winter either).

The brother’s stress that their beer igloos aren’t heated…But that’s what fire pits and serious beers are for….right?

And besides, what’s cooler than drinking the right craft beer with the right people, outdoors on a snowy evening… in the comfort of a transparent beer igloo?

Not much… we’re thinking…not much.
