, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For – June 6, 2013Ninkasi’s Two Essential Summer Newbies! (Eugene, OR) – Ninkasi Brewing Company is getting ready to celebrate lazy days ahead with two returning “essential” summer seasonals. Radiant Ale is a 6.0% ABV Northwest Pale Ale and it was a campfire staple when the ACB crew toured the Pacific Northwest last August. And not only does Maiden the Shade have the best summer seasonal name EVER, this 6.8% summer-style IPA truly captures the essence of summer in the Northwest. Crisp and flavorful, both of these releases take in all that summer has to offer.

Mangos in Heat! (Grand Rapids, MI) – Founders Brewing Company will be introducing Mango Magnifico con Calor (Spanish for Magnificent Mango with Heat), this August – so brace yourself! The seventh installment in the brewery’s popular Backstage Series, Mango Magnifico is a never-before-released, high-gravity fruit beer brewed with mango and Michigan-grown habaneros. And at 10% ABV, this “hottie” is intended to be shared. Mango Magnifico will be released in limited quantities across Founders’ distribution footprint beginning on Monday, August 5.

, Newbies – New Releases That You Want to Look Out For – June 6, 2013Anchor Lager’s Up (San Francisco, CA) – Anchor Brewing has announced that Anchor California Lager, California’s first genuine lager reborn, will be available in select US markets. Originally released as a limited draught beer in early 2012, California Lager was the first beer in their Zymaster Series. Brewed using Cluster hops (the premier hop in 19th-century California), and their own lager yeast, Anchor California Lager is a celebration of California’s unique brewing heritage. It’s now available year-round in 6-packs, 12-packs, 22 oz. bottles, and on draft.

Rogue Brew Bees (Newport, OR) – In March of 2012, Rogue Ales began keeping bees at Rogue Farms in Independence, Oregon. An additional 1.6471 million honeybees were added to the farm in May of this year, bringing the total number of Rogue Farms Honeybees to 1.98652 million. The honey was extracted by hand, filtered, and driven 77 miles to Rogue’s brewery in Newport, where Brewmaster John Maier used it to brew Rogue Farms Honey Kölsch. This “honey” of a Kölsch is out there now, so you know what to do.

Cahoots Double Rye IPA was brewed in collaboration with local brewing legend, Chris Detrick. It features two types of malted rye, loads of malted barley, and Chinook hop varieties, all of which creates a subtly spicy and distinctly hoppy beer. It’s bottle conditioned, has an ABV of 9.4%, and sounds awesome! Scheduled to hit select shelves in early June, Cahoots is a very limited release – so grab one when you see it.

Kalamazoo 22’s For You’s (Galesburg, MI) – It’s been awhile since Bell’s Brewery has released their popular Kalamazoo IPA in 22 oz. bombers, but that’s all about to change as the bottles will soon be available in the brewery’s General Store. Brewed with Michigan hops, Kalamazoo IPA is meant to celebrate and honor Bell’s Kalamazoo roots. The brew’s bottles will feature four distinct labels, each displaying a different Kalamazoo landmark. This local IPA will only be available on draft in Kalamazoo County.
